Text Box: Why Evinrude E-Tec? Why not a four-stroke? E-Tec engines have the lowest emissions and best fuel economy over any other outboard motor, even four strokes! E-Tec engines are fuel injected, which means no choking, priming, pumping or fast idling. They are guaranteed to start on the FIRST revolution of the engine under the included warranty. E-Tec engines produce power on every power stroke, unlike four stroke engines which only produce power on every other power stroke. E-Tec engines are significantly lighter than their four-stroke counter part. Evinrude-Johnson discontinued production of their four stroke engines because of the success and benefits of the E-Tec engines. The bottom line? E-Tec engines offer the best fuel economy, the lowest emissions, and the most amount of power. You won’t find any four stroke outboard that out performs an Evinrude E-Tec.
